The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Fighters Group
Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the primary party to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight players to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
